Our first-ever guest teacher on Withsara. Matilde Wergeland is a meditation teacher, Reiki Master, and holistic health coach. Her calm presence and guidance will leave you nourished, grounded, and open.
My name is Matilde Wergeland and I am so happy and honored to be able to share meditations here on this incredible platform!
My journey
Living a healthy life is something I’ve always been interested in since a little kid, and nourishing food, exercise, spirituality, and having a goal of feeling as good as possible have been passions for as long as I can remember. When I got older, I realized that it was not just a hobby, but something I really wanted to work with. Though I started working in the publishing industry in New York where I lived for five years, I started to transition more and more into wellness-related work and have since then tried to combine it all. Today, I write articles within travel and wellness, as well as a variety of other health-related projects and companies I’ve started; I own an education center within Reiki, In Spirit Reiki, and also work with yoga, Pilates, meditations, and more through my company HEALTH BY M and my newly launched online platform, The Retreat.
What meditation means to me
I believe that moving the body is essential to feel well both physically and mentally, but I have found that while many of us successfully manage to establish a workout routine, meditation is often forgotten though it is equally important. Life tends to get very busy at times, and in order to feel that we are in charge of it and get moments to pause and breathe in the middle of everything, I think meditation is a wonderful practice and addition to Withsara’s amazing workouts. Even though it might not look like we are doing much on the outside, the shifts that can happen on the inside when we prioritize stillness and reflection can be profound. I can honestly say that meditation has changed my life, and I try to do it daily. However, even though a few minutes are enough to experience the effects, a scheduled routine is necessary in order to make it sustainable and successful over time.
