How to to stay motivated to working out
For most, getting started working out is not the biggest obstacle. Continuously showing up to the gym, studio, or yoga mat at home is a challenge. It is said that it can take 66 days on average to make a habit. Here are some tips and tricks to turn your actions into habits and make sure that your health and fitness journey continues to be a successful one.
1. Make working out high on your priority list
During the evening or over the weekend, open up your calendar, create a few meetings during the week and name them ‘My workout’ to make sure that your workout takes priority.
2. Invite a friend for accountability
Working out alone can be very convenient but it’s hugely motivating to get a friend involved in your fitness regime. Invite a friend to Withsara and keep each other accountable.
3. Keep a specific goal in mind
The goal does not just have to be stronger abs or butt. It can simply be the good feeling you get when you finish a workout. It's the best.
4. Talk about it
Talk about your health and fitness plans, goals, or nutrition with a friend or your spouse.
5. It's your time
Think about how this 30-minute workout is your mental vacation, a chance to breathe and step back from your busy day. Try to turn it into a treat rather than a chore. It helps you show up, work hard, and focus on the workout—rather than count down the minutes left.
Hi! I'm Sara, the founder of Withsara. I have been a fitness group instructor, Barre teacher and Yoga teacher for over 10 years. I am also a certified Nutritional Health Coach from IIN in New York, USA.
After giving birth to my two beautiful daughters, I have had to build up my body twice after my pregnancies. With my experience, I have created a workout that is a great combination of low impact, functional movement, pilates, barre, and yoga. It builds up deep core strength, creates sustainable and lasting change, relieves physical tension and mental stress, and gives you an overall healthier and happier body.
