Remember to drink water daily

We all know drinking water is important for us and we should aim to drink at least 2 liters a day. It’s no question that drinking water is an essential part of everyone’s daily routine, but what's the best way to make sure you're drinking enough water each day?

  1. Start your day by drinking a glass of water, this will immediately put you on track to a more hydrated day.

  2. Try to carry a full water bottle with you during your day whether it is in front of your computer at work or in the comfort of your own home. Having a water bottle handy will give you a friendly reminder to keep on drinking. You can even mark drinking goals on clear bottles, either with rubber bands or pen marks, to keep going until you reach your goal.

  3. Aim to finish your bottle before noon and then your second bottle before the evening. By doing this, you will spread your daily intake during the day.

There are endless reasons why water is important for our health. To a name a few, by drinking enough water we keep our gut healthy and activate our metabolism. Water helps with food breakdown and helps dissolve vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients from our food. It then delivers these vitamin components to the rest of our body for use. Water consumption also helps lubricate and cushion our joints, spinal cord, and tissues.

Bring a water bottle to work tomorrow and see if that helps you to stay hydrated through your day. One step at a time and you will slowly start to create a good habit that will increase your water intake every day.
